Well, we all want to make sure there are no added preservatives or chemicals in our baby’s food. Especially, when we are introducing new food to our baby, we want to know the ingredients well to observe any possible allergic reaction. One way to ensure this is by making your own peanut butter at home.
Here is a single ingredient peanut butter recipe for you! It is super quick and easy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of roasted, unsalted peanuts
Steps
- Place peanuts in a high-speed blender
- Blend for 1 minute, starting on low speed and gradually increasing to high speed. You can use the spread function of your blender, if available.
- Use your tamper to push peanuts into the blades until creamy.
TIPS!
- Use at least a pound bag of peanuts for best results. For smaller amounts, your tamper may not reach to push the peanuts down to the blades.
- You can use any kind of peanuts. But for babies, it is best to stick to roasted, unsalted peanuts. Roasting helps release the natural oils for smooth creamy texture.
- Keep blending! Don't give up. Your mixture will become a breadcrumb consistency at some point. Push past that and voila! You've got your super creamy peanut butter.
- DON’T put any water or oils into the mixture.
- If using a food processor, scrape down the sides and break up any clumps frequently.
Give this recipe a try and have peace of mind knowing exactly what's going into your baby's food. Not only it is safe but also delicious for your little one to enjoy!
